Tuesday January 26, 2009 - Dick Durbin, U.S. Senator from Illinois, will introduce the Mental Health on Campus Improvement Act, to create a grant program so colleges can identify students with mental health needs and treat students who ask for help. Senator Durbin's office worked closely with many AUCCCD members in crafting the bill and AUCCCD as an organization endorsed the passage of this legislation this past fall.  AUCCCD continues to endorse the legislation and is also a member of the Higher Education Mental Health Alliance (HEMHA) [PDF] which also endorses this legislation."
