Elements of Enrichment: General Information

The Elements of Enrichment (E-of-E) Committee is comprised of 12 members of the Association for College and University Counseling Center Directors (AUCCCD), appointed by the AUCCCD Governing Board.

The committee's mission is to provide the structure and momentum needed to help the association address key issues in a coordinated, consistent, and collaborative way, including:

• Leadership development
• Management skill development
• Creative visioning around current and future issues affecting college and university counseling centers

The E-of-E Committee meets annually between national conferences to develop programming for the upcoming conference and serves as faculty and facilitators for those programs. E-of-E sessions are consistently among the conference's most highly attended and positively evaluated offerings.

Elements of Enrichment Programs

New Directors Leadership Institute

The New Directors Leadership Institute is offered as a pre-conference program for counseling center directors who are within their first three years in the role. The program addresses adjustment to the director role, leadership development, and the challenges of managing time, budgets, personnel, and organizational politics.

Pre-Conference Program

E-of-E also offers a half-day or full-day pre-conference program focused on a timely issue of interest to college and university counseling center leaders.

Consulting Directors on Duty

Attending directors can sign up for a one-on-one consultation with an experienced counseling center director. E-of-E coordinates the group of senior director-consultants and organizes the conference consultation sign-up process.

Featured 90-Minute Sessions

E-of-E provides featured programming during conference breakout sessions. Sessions may use a variety of formats, with popular approaches including Difficult Dialogues, Trials by Fire, and Town Halls.
